Avoriaz was the first French resort to build a snowpark back in 1993, regularly hosts international freestyle competitions and offers several fantastic snowparks attracting many freestyling boarders and skiers to the area.

  • Arare Snowpark - for intermediates to advanced with red and black kickers, rails, boxes and a Big Air Bag. 
  • La Chapelle Snowpark - for beginners to advanced with a variety of jumps, boxes, rails and kickers.  
  • Skier-cross - for beginners to intermediates with a warm-up blue and challenging red.
  • Superpipe - for intermediates to advanced with a smaller half-pipe and a super-pipe at 120m long and 5.6m high.
  • The Snowcross - five ungroomed slopes for various levels of ability offering the sensation of free powder skiing in safe conditions.
  • The Stash - giant ecological snow park through woodland with walls, rails, boxes, kickers, obstacles & jumps made out of natural materials.  

APRES-SKI

On the Mountain:

Photo: Avoriaz Tourisme / Pascal GombertRenowned for its local gastronomy, the Portes-du-Soleil has over 80 mountain restaurants and bars offering a variety of food from crepes, burgers, chips and snacks to quality Swiss and Savoyard cuisine. In Avoriaz the Yeti has a great apres-ski atmosphere where you can kick back in deckchairs on the terrace and the popular La Kinkerne offers live music, competitions and BBQs.

Avoriaz regularly schedules a series of snowsport & music events and festivals throughout the season, including pop, rock, jazz and electro genres.

The Igloo Village is open to the public from 9am until 6pm and has an ice cave with sculptures, two indoor bars and outdoor terrace. The restaurant is open 7pm till 10pm and can be pre-booked for apertifs and fondue in a luminous atmosphere, ideal for celebrating a special occasion.

The best bars and clubs are located in the same area with offerings of apres-ski, live music and DJs till late. Shooters is popular with Brits with theme nights and late-night DJs and Le Yak nightclub will keep you dancing till the early hours with electro, house music and guests DJs. The resort also has a cool bowling bar with two lanes, pool, darts, air hockey and arcade games.

Avoriaz has a wide choice of restaurants ranging from the great-value and informal with English breakfasts, pizzas, pasta and burgers to gourmet establishments offering local and Savoyard specialities.
