Successful season for Bansko & Borovets
The Bulgarian resorts of Borovets and Bansko have enjoyed a successful 2016/17 with constantly good snow conditions, and with resort investment on and off the mountain, low prices and fantastic nightlife, these great-value resorts continue to attract more visitors each year.
In Borovets freestyle fans enjoyed the two terrain parks - Snow Park Borosport and the new suitable for beginners Family Park. Those who enjoy the untouched terrains of the mountain could explore the 9 new ski-touring routes, developed with Borovets Climbing & Mountaineering team - Martin Mareshki and Viktor Varoshkin.
Bansko played host to the Snowboard World Cup in February where fans got to see the Parallel and Giant Parallel Slalom races, as well as a sprint-cross race, all in one venue. The resort management ensured the race weekend was a great experience for both riders and spectators. As well as watching the races, fans could take part in many other activities including the 'Fans Race' where anyone could have a go with their snowboard on a mini-race track with prizes for the winners.
Along with fun days in the snow, the nights offered great night-skiing conditions and a fantastic and growing apres-ski scene with lots of bars, clubs, live music and DJs seeing revellers through till the early hours.
